Solar Map

A map dividing the United States into irregular sections.

At the corner of California, Arizona, and Nevada is the highest concentration of solar capture potential (Zone 1). This lessens, radiating through the Southwest. Most of the Southeast and west Midwest are in Zone 4, along with a small band of the Northwest. The remaining Midwest, Northeast, and northern Idaho and northwest Montana are in Zone 5, and a small section of western Washington and Oregon are in the final zone, Zone 6.
